The Open Space Museum (OSM) is a mobile and modular art and exhibition project by Virtuale Switzerland. It brings art, digital media and augmented reality beyond traditional museum spaces and into places where people move, pause and meet.

Virtuale Switzerland is now continuing the development of the Open Space Museum under the guiding idea a truly open art space: an open platform for art, mediation and public cultural work. What matters is the practical impact of the project — it should be visible, accessible and socially relevant.

The project responds to a simple question: how can art reach more people? The OSM creates temporary art spaces at urban crossing points, highly frequented public squares, markets, festivals, cultural routes, station areas and other places with strong pedestrian flow. It brings art and digital culture to places where public life already happens.

The OSM has its strongest impact where city life is already taking place. There, it can surprise people, invite them to stop for a moment and turn an ordinary route into a cultural experience. The key point is not only that art is shown, but that it is noticed, shared and experienced in public space.

With mobile elements, AR applications, light, sound and interactive formats, the OSM connects real encounters with digital and artistic experiences. It creates an open art space that is not bound to a building.

Virtuale Switzerland aims to further develop the Open Space Museum as a living platform for exhibitions, mobile presentations, artistic experiments, mediation formats and collaborations with cultural institutions, festivals, urban development projects and private partners.
